VDBIO - Association of German International Civil Servants

The Association of German International Civil Servants (VDBIO) is concerned with issues of social security (health and long term care insurances, pensions, etc.), the right to vote, domiciliation, repatriation, career development, or schooling and vocational training. The Association has built up an informational resource for its members covering topics such as contacts with employment services and educational institutions, taxation and many others. VDBIO members have at their disposal personal advice, an accumulated wealth of long-term experience by its members and an extensive collection of informative material.

Since its foundation in 1976, VDBIO has held an annual Assembly at which the Management Board is elected and the work programme proposed. The Board meets once a month in Geneva. Branch offices in a dozen cities (Bangkok, Bonn, Berlin, Geneva, Manila, Montreal, Nairobi, New York, Paris, Rome, Washington, Vienna) function as local delegations and provide feedback and input to the Board regarding issues faced by German international civil servants around the world.

Sources of communication include the regular newsletter, VDBIO-Rundbrief, and this website.
